STRONG START TO 2015 CHAMPIONSHIP CHASE
A third, a fourth and a ninth in the three races ensured a solid points haul from the Adelaide street circuit, raced as usual in front of an immense crowd and in very hot conditions.
“You always want to win but it’s a long season and this weekend was about ensuring we got a good points outcome if we weren’t in a position to make the top step of the podium,” Craig Lowndes said.
“I am happy with the car and my new engineer, Grant McPherson, and think we’ve really developed an understanding after the race weekend together. I am looking forward to seeing what we can do this season.”

“In first Qualifying I made a slight mistake and locked up at Turn 11 and that cost me some time. Then between sessions we made a change to the car and it was positive, really improved it, and I picked up half a second.
“I really like the feel of the car, we’re working on the balance and flow, and as we improve that I think the car will be very quick.”

“Pretty good day today … in the first race I lost the rears towards the end which made it hard to fight so we made some changes (between the races) and it worked well, the car was much better in the second race. It is a good start to the championship.”

"I think we deserved a better result. The car was actually working really well in the race. We also had a brand new set of tyres for the last run, which we maximised. We just got caught up in a bit of traffic, but all in all I'm not too disappointed. Sure, we'd like to be up further, but we're making progress.
"The car is feeling great, we've just got to qualify better. If you want to look at our Achilles heel this weekend, I think our qualifying let us down, starting too far back. We'll sit down and review the strategy, but it definitely put us back into the mix of the traffic, which hurt us a lot as we used up a lot of the tyre to get past people. Once we were past them though, it was easy to pull away. We'll sit down, have a debrief and regroup."
